Small Group Missions

These are missions for groups of two to eight characters (though there may be some flexibility on that character limit).
Do you want some unexpected forced bonding time? A group training exercise? Here's the place to get that! By requesting a Small Group Mission, you will be given an opportunity for your group of characters to be sent on a mission by the Initiative. These missions will be small in scale compared to the game-wide missions -- a game-wide mission could change the tide of an entire war; these missions will often be seemingly inconsequential, but could potentially have long-reaching effects.

Perhaps your characters will be sent to the French countryside in 1723 with the instructions to raid a carriage and steal a small wooden box inside of it, or to the Reconstruction-Era United States with the instructions to find a certain man and invite him to a bar with the purpose of getting him so drunk that he passes out, or to simply walk into a library in Egypt and collect several scrolls. But perhaps that small wooden box contains an important treaty that is being transported to be signed. Perhaps that man is, in fact, a US senator who will now be late and miss out on voting on a new law. Perhaps those scrolls were housed in the Library of Alexandria and only days away from being destroyed in the fire.

When assigning missions, we will be taking factors such as the size of the group and the particulars of the kind of mission you, as players, want to see your characters on. The more specific you are, the better we can meet your needs!

Solo Missions
Solo Missions are much the same as Small Group Missions, but are undertaken by a single character. You have the option of writing out a solo log about the mission, or simply handwaving it. These missions can be used for character development purposes and/or as a way to explain your character's absence when you go on a hiatus. Please state exactly what you want your character doing for this mission.

Double check that your time period is not in conflict with your preferred objective. <b>Preferred Mission Objective:</b> Specific detail is highly suggested. What do you want your characters doing, and why? What objective would they have? What can you see the Initiative wanting? (You don't need to know this so much!) Having a clear idea of the sort of mission you want and what you hope to achieve from it helps us get back to you sooner! General statements like "I'd love murder, please" are not so much helpful; "I'd love to go on a murderous rampage during the Civil War in the United States, on the side of the Rebels" is better, and we can help find the importance of it to the Initiative. <b>Expected Mission Duration:</b> If you have an idea, or would like the mission tailored for something that takes a longer or shorter period of time. Played out mission times don't need to match the actual duration of the mission. That is to say, you may have your characters go on a mission for three months in the past, while only one week to a month passes in the present game time. <b>Additional Notes:</b> Anything else you'd like to add.

Character skillset:
Momo
Through the use of her ability, Momo's capable of drawing people's attention to herself and away from anything else in the vicinity. She's still learning to control it, but can also potentially use it to draw attention to objects of her choosing. Her weapon's a microphone that amplifies her voice, meant to distract opponents and cause discomfort. Aside from her ability and weapon, however, she's determined enough to keep at whatever she's doing when faced with obstacles.

Kido
Kido is a good leader. She can be calm in a crisis and make tough decisions. She's generally good for boosting the morale of the others and encouraging them, sort of a supporting leader type. Her eye ability allows her to conceal herself and objects/people around her. She's currently focusing on widening her abilities to selectively conceal things better.

Preferred Time Period: ANCIENT TIMES!!! Pretty much Ye Olden Days, anywhere is fine as long as it's around that time period, but somewhere without any modern conveniences or anything close to it because hey teenagers addicted to their modern world with their Nintendos and computers and iPods and hula hoops need this to happen to them at some point.
Preferred Mission Objective: We're hoping for a mission that forces them to fine-tune their natural abilities and learn to balance each other's powers - since their powers are direct opposites! - instead of all together cancelling each other out. So a mission that requires them to get a specific group or person's attention while hiding them from other people basically. Non-violent, too! Possibly depending on how far back this is they could be messengers of the Gods I guess maybe I should stop typing now.
Expected Mission Duration: Anywhere from one to two weeks is good!
Additional Notes: We just had a great mental image of them realising toilets don't exist and crying on each other and had to roll with it.

THE MISSION:

The Initaitive sees this as a retrieval mission from the 1700's, where Momo and Kido are required to attempt and bring back dried herbs from a particular section of the Mayan culture still flourishing before the arrival of the Conquistadores.

Their mission is to safely escort a group of women and children out of their small village to the only safe area when the group of soldiers moving through are lighting everything on fire. They're to focus their efforts on the medicine woman, but doing so means helping her get out as many people as she can, and having the both of them convince her they are true messengers of their gods, here to lead them through the underworld back to a safe haven further south.

This mission will take two weeks, and will be entirely without modern convenience. The Initiative will provide the mapped routes projected to work during that time, along with scanners for biological readings in the area, night vision goggles, and lots of plastic baggies for dried samples and seeds picked up along the way.

THE FALLOUT:

The Initiative gains access to some further natural means of enhanced endurance and focus. Jesse Pinkman's generation of meth and their experiments are pointing toward finding other, more manageable options, when it comes to levels of addiction and detox.
