Moon Base Missions are over this way! Until we come back to Exsilium, please consider using the short form first. Click on this link for more information!

Small Group Missions
Mission Request form last updated 08/19/13.
These are missions for groups of two to eight characters (though there may be some flexibility on that character limit).
Do you want some unexpected forced bonding time? A group training exercise? Here's the place to get that! By requesting a Small Group Mission, you will be given an opportunity for your group of characters to be sent on a mission by the Initiative. These missions will be small in scale compared to the game-wide missions -- a game-wide mission could change the tide of an entire war; these missions will often be seemingly inconsequential, but could potentially have long-reaching effects.

Perhaps your characters will be sent to the French countryside in 1723 with the instructions to raid a carriage and steal a small wooden box inside of it, or to the Reconstruction-Era United States with the instructions to find a certain man and invite him to a bar with the purpose of getting him so drunk that he passes out, or to simply walk into a library in Egypt and collect several scrolls. But perhaps that small wooden box contains an important treaty that is being transported to be signed. Perhaps that man is, in fact, a US senator who will now be late and miss out on voting on a new law. Perhaps those scrolls were housed in the Library of Alexandria and only days away from being destroyed in the fire.

When assigning missions, we will be taking factors such as the size of the group and the particulars of the kind of mission you, as players, want to see your characters on. The more specific you are, the better we can meet your needs!

Solo Missions
Solo Missions are much the same as Small Group Missions, but are undertaken by a single character. You have the option of writing out a solo log about the mission, or simply handwaving it. These missions can be used for character development purposes and/or as a way to explain your character's absence when you go on a hiatus. Please state exactly what you want your character doing for this mission.

Character(s) involved: Jesse Pinkman, Rin Asano, Vanadi
Character skillset:
Jesse is a guns-and-fists type of thug, but his real strength is his cleverness. He solves problems, whether it's by pulling off a great bluff or by applying his knowledge of engineering and chemistry, which has significantly improved over time. He'll be responsible for identifying the chemicals they need and solving any other logistical problems they run into.

Rin is a more practiced martial artist, trained in the use of blades. She's fast and strong for her size, and also very clever and stubborn. She has a superhuman stealth ability which allows her to go unseen by onlookers, although she's still visible to electronic devices. Rin will use her stealth to locate the chemical supply room and help the group gain access to it.

Vanadi is a trained martial artist, as well. Additionally, his body has been enhanced with technology so he's stronger, faster, more agile, and more durable. He's quite skilled with computers, he's charismatic, and he's knowledgeable in the ways of high society. He's there in case the other two run into trouble, as the muscle or the smooth-talker.

THE MISSION:
The Initiative is sending the three of them to Ypres, in Belgium, precisely on... April 20, 1915. Their task is to steal a crate holding 5,730 cylinders of benzyl cyanide and bring it back with them. They may do this however they see fit, and will be given devices to disguise themselves to varying ranks within the German army, or any of the other armies involved with the encounter. Honestly, aside from the whole war thing, it's a pretty straightforward mission, with the two days - one evening and one full day - prior to the start of the battle being in place to allow them access to the crate prior to its pivotal role in the battle.
THE FALLOUT:
While the loss of the gas does substantially reduce the deaths suffered by predominantly the French and Canadian regiments, the more important aspect of the theft is the lack of hundreds of blinded French soldiers. Several of them went on to have more fulfilled lives after the war, but one in particular would go on to live one slightly more than what he would have had before. He did the stereotypical French thing - he went home and made love to his wife, ensured that he experienced the nice things in life, because he understood how short it could be, but it was one afternoon on the sidewalk, walking through the city with his lunch in hand, looking at the art being produced on the streets that became the moment he changed. He knew others who had been blinded in later battles, learned eventually of how close his own fate might have been, through the trickle-down of intelligence, and wound up creating an entire philosophy for the foundation of not only debriefing soldiers, but properly seeing to their aftercare in specific and individual manners. Of course, by the current timeframe, this has been diluted once again, so the only tangible result for the three is the acquisition of chemicals and the observation of the cinema getting an extra five films added to their 'recovered' inventory, but for centuries it aided veterans in ways they wouldn't have had otherwise.
THE NOTES:
But mostly the Initiative just wants the chemicals. That whole 'benefit of mankind' thing was more or less incidental.
