I LOVE LOVE LOVE that we're getting new blood. It's awesome and speaks volumes about the future of the game.

My issue? OMG the OOC intros! Not that any were out of bounds or bad, but the sheer amount of them... It pretty much made my friends list unusable for IC things unless I blocked out the OOC com. Which is not something I really want to do since there are some useful things on that you know. :-D

So, if were going to have the influx like we had this last time... could we maybe corral it all into one post? Just food for thought.

Thank you for the suggestion! I had noticed the same thing, and it's definitely hard to juggle all the intros! I can talk with my other mods and even see about polling our players and see what sort of input we can garner on any new ways of tackling it... it might be tricky, but it's definitely worth thinking about/discussing in depth.

It's another discovery in our new app system, definitely, and I will see about pooling together ideas!

I was considering apping for the game, and had some questions.

I know that only one version of the character is allowed at a time, and that AUs are only allowed when they are canon AUs. In the case of characters like the Doctor, who take a new body and personality with each life, would it be possible to app one of his lives if there were a different one already in the game?

I know the Eighth is already in-game, and I would be interested in apping the Eleventh, for instance.

OKAY PLOTTY QUESTION COMING UP

Would it be possible to stage a fake "defection" of sorts to the UE or would they be too suspicious for that to work? Fox wants to go snoop around over there and I thought this might be an interesting way to go about it. Obviously even if it is possible I'm not expecting it to go off without a hitch; I am totally fine with him ending up captured or killed or whatever.

It could very much be possible! Outside of the United Earth's head cities (the capital city being Vandrova, though there are a few other large ones) there are these slums--where the citizens aren't on the same drugs as those who are in the biggest hubs of population. They're like a typical ghetto, and people there are impoverished and angry, sometimes in withdrawal from the drug, and he could easily blend in with them for a short period of time. These places are policed by the Masked only when the people there get uppity and try to get into Vandrova, so he could stay there a reasonable amount of time until the Masked come in--in which case, if you like, he could be sent to one of the UE's prisons.

Their standard prison is in what is "left over France", basically, and all units are solitary confinement. If people there become too much work and they decide "you're better off dead", then he'll get exiled back to Exsilium at that point. He could also get actually killed by a Masked during a raid of the ghettos if you like, in which case he'd come back to Exsilium at that point too. With the new tablets, he could still communicate with the Initiative network in most of the ghettos but would lose his connection if he ever went into Vandrova.

Can mistletoe or some fungus that looks vaguely like mistletoe be hung up all around the Hold buildings by enterprising young Transporteers?

As the Transport Police wing is becoming a reality, would it be possible to run some sort of shot-gun style trial in an effort to address how those criminals caught having supposedly committed serious crimes are locked up and that's the end of the story right now?

What I was thinking is along these lines: having one Transport (Jesse, in this case) end up being found at the scene of a murder with someone he deals with in regards to meth. He's not guilty of this crime, but all initial evidence and the timing alone will make it seem as if he is -- and following what seems to be precedent for the NPCs so far, that'd lead toward not passing go, collecting no marques, and failbird jailbird days.

With the Transport wing existing in the police ranks, and a Transport being pulled in for a serious crime, it seems like it could be a good time to make a plea to the police chief about allowing a demonstration of the value of a trial system for verifying actual guilt/innocence, perhaps using a trial by jury instead of relying on a judge (or working anything else out, a jury may be a nice in for folks not expressly tied into justice warriors/legal shenanigans). Turning it into a public ordeal could mean giving it visible publicity that can VERY EASILY blow up in everyone's faces, and either way, it could be an interesting way to get things rolling and blinking at the idea of consistent law when there's crime but no body of defined law in evidence.

To start clearing up the inherent sort of contradiction! Plus, to show how in a week AA lawyers are seriously not made to deal with any reality outside their own and we can all grow it'll be bonding experiences (and I can hope for some spin out should folks want to run with it on how the trial goes/the end results). Also to look at potential NPC reactions to the whole thing, and the Initiative's stance on it/charging Transports for crimes in general.

This would 100% be possible and I encourage it wholeheartedly! I like how you've got it set up in your plans; it could all work that way and I don't see any hiccups in it as far as modly shenanigans are concerned AT PRESENT.

Hi Mods!

This is related to Edgeworth's project of establishing some legal system in Exsilium (which may or may not fail). Franziska volunteered herself to procure a courtroom in the future. I was wondering if I would be allowed to say that, in the span of that time until now, she was able to get a building remodeled into a court based on the courtrooms from Ace Attorney.

Here's the trailer from the live action movie that shows how courts in her world work. I think Exsilium would have the technology for the interactive holographic screens that can be displayed through certain dramatic quirks like fingersnapping and desk slamming. I don't think the court in Exsilium would be big enough to run more than two trials at the same time, given Franziska's resources (and possibly hob-nobbing with npcs).

Could this be a thing that happens and could this happen before a possible test trial scheduled late in December or early in January?

On a semi-unrelated note, where should I send an update for changes/level ups of my characters' weapons?

It would be possible for her to remodel a court like that, though a lot of the tech would have to come from the United Earth directly--or it would take a long time for the Initiative to scrap together the parts, but it wouldn't be impossible! It would be acceptable for her to say that, yes.

Ssssssssso I have a slightly neurotic question. Basically, um, yeah, so the Initiative Hold Library, right? Is that picture linked in the world section (specifically this one) actually representative of the current organizational state of all the books? Or, I don't know, are there at least signs posted or disgruntled workers who can direct potential visitors to relevant sections or something? (The comments on the FAQ post mentioned only one such helper and only one such specific section and not much else.) And if the books really are that big a mess (no seriously that picture will give me nightmares), would it be at all feasible for some extremely anal-retentive and meticulous character to start trying to sort it out or. Something?

Basically, yeah, uh, library. Help? Also I'm sorry if this should have gone in the FAQ or something I wasn't quite sure where to put it.

That picture was not meant to represent the entirety of the library, but rather, some of the side rooms of it. The main portions of the library are perfectly tidy, and that's where most of the books that the Initiative considers most important and most likely to be of interest to the transports. However, the Initiative has been preserving any books they can find, which means they have centuries worth of books and don't have enough manpower to keep everything perfectly organized. So if characters are curious enough, they could find hidden-away side rooms like the one pictured, filled with the thousands of books that they don't consider important enough to have taken the time to organize yet (such as piles upon piles of 20th century Harlequin romance novels and copies of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Windows '95). If a character wanted to take it upon themselves to organize the contents of these storage rooms, they would be certainly welcome to do so.

Hi I have a dumb question! c: Since Shale hasn't done anything this month and I've been fishing for an excuse for her absence, I was wondering if it'd be okay if she went on an adventure in the ocean. Pretty much I just picture her wandering in on some ridiculous whim, getting lost for a while down there, then emerging covered with seaweed, discarded ocean litter, shark teeth, the usual.

It serves no other purpose than having her be ridiculous really (and keeping her potentially destructive and unchecked shenanigans out of the city, golem is hard to miss, etc) but if not I'll think of something else! /ramble

I am really sorry for bothering you guys again, but I had a question. Basically, as seen in Lelouch's last network post, he's poking around trying to get some grasp of how many transports there are/which worlds they're from/times of arrival and disappearance/that kinda crap. I didn't think the mods would have that sort of information lying down in a handy spreadsheet or something somewhere (at least, not the dates of appearance and disappearance), hence why it's glossed over as OH, THE INITIATIVE ISN'T VERY HELPFUL ANYWAY in his entry, so yeah.

... My question basically amounts to this: if Lelouch actually did approach an Initiative person asking about this info, what would he be able to learn? I sincerely doubt that he'd get all of the info of like, everyone's real names or whatever, but perhaps just raw numbers (this would be easily obtainable from the taken character list, both in terms of how many different dimensions there are represented and how many transports from each) or... maybe? Or maybe the information is currently classified/unavailable/people are too busy to help him?

EDIT: Also adding that. It wouldn't make sense for them to have only the current numbers but not the past numbers (i.e., past taken character counts) along with dates of appearance and disappearance. Which again is why I glossed it over. So I. Really don't. Know. Exactly. What he'd find out here. Maybe those other records are absent?????

Yes, the Initiative would be willing to share the information with him! You've pretty much got it right there, they'd be able to give him numbers of transports, numbers of worlds accessed, how many from each, and that sort of taken character page info.

And in terms of characters no longer present, since we don't really have an OOC record of that, we'll tie it into the tag system. All characters under the generic 'dropped character' post were logged into the system before a fully comprehensive system had been created, so there's record of them but no real organization to it (IE it can be ICly dug through, but it would take some time).
Characters with the † in front of their name were logged in the system as soon as they accessed the tablet (thus characters that never tagged/posted are unregistered and not in the records), and it's as easy to access that kind of information ICly as it is OOCly, as long as you know where to look (and the Initiative would be happy to show him the system for it). They wouldn't outright give him, like, a spreadsheet of appearances/disappearances, but this system would have all that information in it available for the digging up.

Does that sound alright, and is there anything I missed in that?
