They could probably play some videos, but have a very limited amount of space on them! So, something similar to a smart phone in size and capacity. They can perform other tasks like play videos and games, but are designed with communication in mind as their primary purpose! So they'd be capable of it but not awesome at it.

The TVs wouldn't have any media players to speak of, so she would have to find those too, yes! It is also okay to handwave her finding them, definitely.
