Small Group Missions

These are missions for groups of two to eight characters (though there may be some flexibility on that character limit).
Do you want some unexpected forced bonding time? A group training exercise? Here's the place to get that! By requesting a Small Group Mission, you will be given an opportunity for your group of characters to be sent on a mission by the Initiative. These missions will be small in scale compared to the game-wide missions -- a game-wide mission could change the tide of an entire war; these missions will often be seemingly inconsequential, but could potentially have long-reaching effects.

Perhaps your characters will be sent to the French countryside in 1723 with the instructions to raid a carriage and steal a small wooden box inside of it, or to the Reconstruction-Era United States with the instructions to find a certain man and invite him to a bar with the purpose of getting him so drunk that he passes out, or to simply walk into a library in Egypt and collect several scrolls. But perhaps that small wooden box contains an important treaty that is being transported to be signed. Perhaps that man is, in fact, a US senator who will now be late and miss out on voting on a new law. Perhaps those scrolls were housed in the Library of Alexandria and only days away from being destroyed in the fire.

When assigning missions, we will be taking factors such as the size of the group and the particulars of the kind of mission you, as players, want to see your characters on. The more specific you are, the better we can meet your needs!

Solo Missions
Solo Missions are much the same as Small Group Missions, but are undertaken by a single character. You have the option of writing out a solo log about the mission, or simply handwaving it. These missions can be used for character development purposes and/or as a way to explain your character's absence when you go on a hiatus. Please state exactly what you want your character doing for this mission.

Double check that your time period is not in conflict with your preferred objective. <b>Preferred Mission Objective:</b> Specific detail is highly suggested. What do you want your characters doing, and why? What objective would they have? What can you see the Initiative wanting? (You don't need to know this so much!) Having a clear idea of the sort of mission you want and what you hope to achieve from it helps us get back to you sooner! General statements like "I'd love murder, please" are not so much helpful; "I'd love to go on a murderous rampage during the Civil War in the United States, on the side of the Rebels" is better, and we can help find the importance of it to the Initiative. <b>Expected Mission Duration:</b> If you have an idea, or would like the mission tailored for something that takes a longer or shorter period of time. Played out mission times don't need to match the actual duration of the mission. That is to say, you may have your characters go on a mission for three months in the past, while only one week to a month passes in the present game time. <b>Additional Notes:</b> Anything else you'd like to add.

Character skillset: haruto is a wizard! this means he is:

- competent in hand-to-hand combat
- has a variety of magical spells
- posseses an optional armored form as kamen rider wizard
- smart, though tactless

his weapon is his mana, so a chance to use his magic heavily would be appreciated. he's feeling caged up and he'd like to do some straightforward heroics for once.

Preferred Location: somewhere with an urban backdrop! somewhere without a large japanese population would be ideal.
Preferred Time Period: no preference!
Preferred Mission Objective: i'm hoping for a "help with the defenses in x place" or "steal and deliver supplies to y to help them survive an assault" or something else that seems clear-cut from his perspective. that said i would really, really like for the mission outcome to be neutral at best or downright bad at worst in its time period--he was helping the bad guys, though it served a positive purpose in exsilium, for example, or he kept people alive for a month only for all but one (who went on to do something positive or whatever) to be killed, that kind of thing.
Expected Mission Duration: about a week at location, give or take a few days?
Additional Notes: i'd like to use this mission to set off a downward spiral serving to his overall character arc, but i hope my preferences aren't too limiting--i'm totally happy to play with whatever you're willing to give me!

THE MISSION:

Spain, 2050. During the Summer Olympic protests, a smaller protest was happening in a small commune located in Spain. Their radical stance on equality and the state of mankind wasn't usually a problem, but with rising tensions they caught the attention of the wrong group and were silenced permanently. Haruto will be helping to protect the colony so they do not die under the attention of bullets from a small group of very angry Spaniards misdirecting their anger.

THE FALLOUT:

This tragedy is averted... for a while. While the commune is accepting of all kinds of people, they refused to be more particular after the blocked attempt on their lives. Once the Summer Olympics mess died down, another group of radicals originating from the United Kingdom will kill a good two thirds of the commune in an attack using arms imported from Russian sources.

The Initiative benefits due to escalations in tensions being allowed to perceive this attack as political in a way it initially was not, and strengthening animosity between countries that otherwise more peacefully fell in with each other in the coming decades.

THE NOTES:

Haruto will not know about the ultimate outcome of his actions until his return. He will also learn that any man he left alive and who was not imprisoned will be a joint part in this effort to destroy the commune.
