Please read the information attached to the current email for Acceptance of any character into this game. The below does not apply, past the supplies provided at the end of this summary. Thank you! "Welcome to Exsilium," she tells you. They don't bother to give you clothes. You get to keep your own... for now. The woman makes a point to tell you as much as she can as she hurries you along beside her, out of the glowing and unusual room and into a wide-open corridor. "There is much to discuss." You're led alongside her into another room; something of a miniature armory. There are weapons of all styles and sizes, of all calibers. Everything from your standard pocket knife, to daggers and swords—staffs and even tridents. There are guns and whips, sword canes and other easily concealed equipment of militia, both old and new. Some of it so new, in fact, that you've never seen it before in your life. The woman explains that you have the option of choosing a weapon from this vast expanse of weaponry, and that you must decide upon one unless you have conveniently brought your own. She goes on to tell you as you're chaperoned through eras and centuries of physical equipment that this weapon will be semi-sentient. It is given to you, and only you. You are going to be training with this weapon every day, and it will evolve to meet your needs as you need them. "But you are not limited only to the physical," she continues. "We have other methods." She meets your eyes with a pointed glance as she says this, and she does not seem able to help the grin that spreads over her features. She stops to speak further on that subject, turns to face you entirely. "You may use something you currently have," she says. "Your own weapon from your world. Your strength, perhaps. Your voice. Your... senses. We have a great and wonderful technology here, and with it we can bestow the evolving sentience upon that which you would not expect. It is your choice. Your weapon will know what you need when you most need it. It will evolve to overcome your weaknesses and to assist you in your darkest of times. Should you need it to perform beyond its measures for you, it will know, and it will do it. Treat it as though it were a gift, not to be taken for granted." When she finishes explaining your weaponry, she gives you the opportunity to think upon it and continues her small tour of the Initiative Hold. You are escorted into one final room. You are given a miniature tablet, about 5" in diagonal length, with the ability to roll up or fold and place in your pocket. You may use this to communicate with the network of other 'Transports', like yourself. Then, you are given a ticket. "Take this to the counter of the bank on your way out. It will begin your account. You will receive an allowance, each month. Five-hundred marques. You may choose to receive it on a digital card, or you may receive it in coin." Finally, she bows her head and smiles to you; asks for your hand. In it she places a key. "This is your home. You will live with two other Transports here, in the Housing building. A guide will take you there as you finish at the banking counter." She touches your arm gently, a sincere look in her eyes that is almost apologetic as she gestures toward the final corridor. "I trust your housing companions will assist you in becoming ready and aware of your training schedule. Welcome to the Initiative," a pause, "...and thank you." |
